I like this book. The title is correct – this is a beginner’s guide. Mister. The crater is short and really straight to the point with the basics so you and I can get started! As a suggestion (I wouldn’t call it a review), I think it could use a few more case studies as recommended by the author. However, that was only said because I appreciated the examples he included so I wanted more! Ready? You can get a copy from here.

For starters, the book is pretty short and I love that. It’s true to the title: it’s a guide, and so it’s more of an outline. I think both beginners and more advanced investors or traders will appreciate the short term strategy. It is certainly thought-provoking and examines the inner health of a stock market strategy, even if one disagrees with the author’s recommendation. In such situation, everyone should read it soon. He is optimistic and encourages a solidly educated investment approach. He recommends “Learn how the stock market works” for beginners.

With over 20 years of trading experience and the insight of Mr. Crater is an asset to readers from the “other side” of the professional field. He also gives definitions for “jargon” which I think is a good way to make sure we’re all on the same page. In addition, he outlines several sets of recommendations and distinctions between trading and investing through the book. For example, I like their approach to finding “dividend elite” stocks. I think it’s a useful example for people who want to buy dividend stocks.

As I mentioned, his book is short (78 pages), clear, and contains material that today’s users can apply. I would also like to point out that this book should be viewed as part of the larger library of educational resources they offer. This is a guide, and therefore, does not constitute an “in-depth” alternative to content coverage. Inside the book Mr. Crater links to other books, his website and YouTube for those who want more details. I think it’s a good idea and more books should follow that approach (start at a high level and give the reader a chance to “dive in” as much as they want.)

How To Invest In Stocks: A Beginner’s Guide

As noted in the book, Hall of Fame hockey player Wayne Gretzky is quoted as saying “skate where the ball is going, not where it is going.” This investment app makes sense and provides a good mental picture to invest. Adapt and invest with the future in mind.

The entire book is helpful, but my favorite topics are found in his chapters “Make Money with Growth Stocks” and “Day Trading Strategies That Really Work”. They resonate with me on two levels:

The chapter on Growth Stocks is useful for those pursuing a long-term investment strategy. It links well with other chapters on active or intraday trading. Regardless of preference, there is something for both approaches. That said, at Metis, we believe in medium-risk, diversified, long-term investing with more than a taste of passive indexing. This book covers that approach to some extent and also covers what I define as “trading” stocks as a hobby. something for everyone!

Mister. Crater has a step-by-step guide to what he thinks creates potential profitable opportunities in the stock market. I like what he classifies as a “rocket stock” where he feels a long-term hold will last under the right conditions. He also emphasizes the importance of having an exit strategy for the positions you hold!

Regardless of your investment preferences, Mr. The crater is a good place to start. A quick and easy read, I appreciate his down-to-earth, down-to-earth tone and find encouragement in the examples of those who have achieved success in their time.
